Artificial intelligence (AI) is an exciting, emerging technology that offers both incredible possibility, but also potential risk. It’s been around for quite a while, but only recently has it gained technical capability and useful application. What is AI exactly, and how are organizations integrating it into their operations?

IQC — in partnership with PEN and WCPE — is pleased to host an online webinar discussion on Thursday, September 5: “Understanding, Embracing & Leveraging Artificial Intelligence.” The discussion will feature three speakers from three different types of organizations, each sharing insights on how they are integrating AI into their operations:

  • Greg Hintermeister, Master Inventor, IBM (business)
  • Dr. Andrew Lundquist, Chief Medical Officer, Mankato Clinic (healthcare)
  • Chris Schultz, IT Officer, Sourcewell (nonprofit serving the public sector)

Each speaker will share how their organization is using AI in a “TEDtalk” format, followed by questions and discussion. We’ll hear how organizations are using AI to execute strategy, innovate, increase productivity, address staffing shortages by shifting how work gets done, and deliver products, services, and even health care.

At its simplest core, the goal of AI is sensemaking: it can help in making decisions; solving complex problems; enhancing lifestyle; and facilitating commerce, education, healthcare. According to Gartner, 37% of US organizations have already implemented AI in some form and Servion projects that 95% of customer interactions will be powered by AI in the next two or three years. With the rapid acceleration of AI in so many of our business and personal applications, leaders need to understand what it is, how it can be used to create value for customers and stakeholders, and how it should be managed to limit risk.

This session is Thursday, September 5 from 8:00-9:00 CT (optional networking and mingling 7:45-8:00) using Zoom MEETING. Grab your coffee and breakfast, and join us for a rich discussion. Free for PEN/WCPE/IQC members; $20 for non-members.

Can’t make it live but interested in the content? Register anyway: all registered attendees get a link to the recording after the session!
