Tammy Rogers is best known for helping leaders experience the kind of “Aha” moments that result in new ways of thinking, new attitudes and new behaviors. (Some might say she gives them meaty ideas to chew on–so to speak.)

A certified coach, Tammy has been instrumental in nine business start-ups. She’s held Vice President titles in both Human Resources and Operations—and has had the opportunity to lead more than 200 employees in remote offices from Boston to Los Angeles and Minneapolis to Atlanta.
Tammy has written more than 50 internationally distributed training programs. She has worked with best-selling authors like James Autry and Bob Nelson. And she has partnered with hundreds of companies—large and small—to help them improve results through the building of people, processes and procedures.


Scott Burgmeyer is the Executive Director of the Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence, and founder of Creative Solutions Group.

He has spent the last 30 years working and consulting in manufacturing, technology, education, retail and health care industries.  In his professional career he has been in roles such as QA Manager, CI Manager, Organizational Development, Human Resources, SVP Quality & Improvement, and Chief Improvement Officer.

Since 2008 Jennifer Prinz has served as Chief Operating Officer of Donor Alliance, a nonprofit, community focused organ procurement organization serving Colorado and most of Wyoming. The company is federally-designated, accredited by the Association of Organ Procurement Organizations and an American Association of Tissue Banks accredited tissue bank. Jennifer has worked in the organ, eye and tissue donation and transplant field for more than 25 years.

At Donor Alliance Jennifer oversees more than 80 percent of the organization including the clinical, quality, hospital development, performance excellence, and human resources departments. Thanks to Jennifer’s leadership Donor Alliance has achieved outstanding clinical, operational and financial outcomes, and Colorado and Wyoming have grown to boast some of the highest donor designation rates in the country.

Doug Gilbert – Doug Gilbert is the current Board Chair of Rocky Mountain Performance, the Baldrige affiliate program for Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, and Nebraska. His work in quality management and performance excellence dates back over two decades. While at what is now Syngenta he was instrumental in bringing performance improvement methods into the headquarters operations. The predecessor organization, Ciba-Geigy, was a founding member of EFQM. Since 2005 he has worked in higher education and brought excellence into that area through work with the business program accreditor ACBSP and the deployment of Lean Six Sigma models in program development and student learning assessment.


K. Kathleen O’Neill, Ph.D. – Dr. Kate O’Neill is an Associate Professor of Strategic Leadership and director of the Master of Strategic Leadership (MSL) program at Mount Mercy University.

Her field of inquiry is Leadership and Change with a specialization in culture and communication. She has worked in Japan, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Guatemala, Argentina, the United States, Jamaica, and the Central Pacific nation of Kiribati.

Dr. O’Neill is a government and industry consultant and advisor. She creates innovative solutions for complex environments on issues related to leadership, change management, organization development, business communication, employee engagement, and cross-cultural/inter-cultural workplace relations and team development.

With a masters degree specializing in Adult Education, Dr. O’Neill is an expert facilitator with extensive experiential learning, classroom teaching, and coaching experience. She teaches management, leadership, cross-cultural management, organizational behavior, strategic human resource management, change management, organizational communication, and strategy.


Monte Pedersen – Monte Pedersen is the Principal of The CDA Group LLC, an independent leadership and training firm formed as part of the transformational economy specializing in helping small to middle sized businesses and organizations achieve their strategic plan-on an annual basis. The firm works with senior executives in removing the top two barriers to effective strategy execution; culture and past habits.

With over 35 years of experience in corporate operations, sales and strategy management, Monte brings value to companies through his insight and ability to effectively communicate with all levels of any organization. His business acumen and solid relationship skills allow him to work seamlessly within your company, helping you achieve the results that you are driven towards and destined to realize.

Before founding The CDA Group, Monte spent the entirety of his business career as a senior operations and sales executive with two global contract management firms. He holds a bachelors degree in management from National-Louis University (IL), is certified in the Keyne Methodology for strategic management execution, has attended several executive leadership and training programs and volunteers as a SCORE business mentor, supporting current and start-up businesses in the local community for the Dubuque, Iowa chapter.

Crista Carlile – Dr. Crista Carlile has been the Director of Teaching & Learning for Urbandale Schools for five years. Crista’s primary responsibilities are leading curriculum, instruction, and assessment design and implementation, as well as collaborating with other senior leaders on leadership development for teachers and administrators in UCSD.

Mark Lane –Mark Lane is the Associate Superintendent for Urbandale Schools, a role he has held for six years. He works with administrators, managers, and staff to create high-quality work environments where every employee feels passion and pride in producing service excellence. Over his 23 years in education, Mark has developed a belief that every leader has a responsibility to facilitate and manage working conditions that increase the likelihood that all employees are highly engaged.

Meredith Mauro – Meredith Mauro has served as the principal of Valerius Elementary School in Urbandale for six years. Her systems-focused leadership has resulted in significant improvements in employee engagement during her tenure. Meredith is relentless in her pursuit of excellence for students, parents, and staff. She also serves as a critical member of the Urbandale Schools Measurement Team, responsible for leading strategic improvement efforts in Urbandale.


1:15 Breakout Sessions

Doug Stilwell – Dr. Doug Stilwell currently serves as an assistant professor of educational leadership at Drake University. Prior to Drake, Doug served for 35 years as K-12 public educator in Iowa, with 22 of those years focused on leadership at the building and district level. During his five-year tenure as superintendent of the Urbandale Community School District, Doug initiated the district’s efforts in quality and continual improvement, focused through the Baldrige framework. As a result of this work, student achievement levels were the highest the district had seen in 17 years, and most recently Urbandale achieved the Gold level through the Iowa Recognition for Performance Excellence program, a process that began in 2014. In 2017 Doug started the Drake Continual Improvement Network, bringing educators together from across the state to learn about quality and continual improvement. Doug is married, has two daughters and five grandchildren.


Joel Bennett – With 20+ years of human resources experience, Joel builds improved organizational capacity by providing customized consulting, training, and coaching services to growth-focused businesses. In short, he helps business leaders have the conversations they need to have to get the results they want.

His expertise in leadership, organizational development, performance management, and change management allow him to assist leaders in tackling challenging personnel and organizational issues. Joel has worked with clients in a variety of industries, including manufacturing, construction, service, education, and healthcare.

Joel graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. in History & Geography, and an M.A. in Organization Management from the University of Phoenix. He is also a certified practitioner of the DISC assessment and an Actionable Consulting Partner for the Actionable Conversations line of leadership development tools.


Mike Wagner – Mike Wagner is President of White Rabbit, a leadership formation firm he founded in 2004. He is a skilled communicator, facilitator, and business consultant. Mike serves leadership teams in the creation of competitive advantage and growth strategies. His approach is a unique combination of leadership development and organizational culture, informed by the tools and process of design thinking.

Mike has been speaking professionally for over 30 years. He started his career as a Pastor and Church Planter before entering the business world. Mike engages audiences with fresh ideas and tells compelling stories to inspire them to keep creating!

Mike’s mission is to release the wisdom and capacity of each organization he serves.


Jeremy Braden – Jeremy Braden is currently a school administrator in Ankeny Community School District. He has served a school leader in small, rural schools with generational poverty and highly affluent, suburban districts for over 15 years. He has served in leadership roles from birth to 3 years old, middle school, high school and district level leadership in his career. He currently focuses on workforce engagement to continually improve learning systems; using student and staff feedback to improve learning systems for students, teachers, and administrators; leadership behaviors to improve climate and culture; dropout prevention; and building high performing teams. He has presented to local schools and state conferences on learning, leading and serving educational systems. Jeremy is currently completing his doctoral studies at Drake University focusing on using the practice of rounding to improve workforce engagement in K-5 elementary buildings. He is married to Carrie, who is a kindergarten teacher, and they have three daughters.

Donna Gilligan – Donna Gilligan is an experienced leader, facilitator and speaker. She has worked for Fortune 100 companies as the Director of Organizational Effectiveness to develop the company culture to ensure high performance. Donna provides coaching, facilitation, and training to develop leaders, teams and organizations. Donna firmly believes that to sustain great results in an organization you must establish strong relationships up, down and across the organization. Donna has a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Methodist University, a Masters of Science degree from Miami University and all but her dissertation completed for a Ph.D. from Iowa State University.


Josh Streets – Josh Streets lives life with one purpose, “To bring out the best in people and their businesses.” He is a trusted advisor to organizations and individuals around the country regarding professional and personal performance. Josh is an entrepreneur, mentor and consultant whose firm works with clients on a range of projects including employee engagement, leadership training, human capital management and organizational development.

Josh learned the importance of high performing behaviors and honed his leadership skills early by serving in Fortune 500 senior leadership roles with companies like W.W. Grainger & U.S. Cellular over the course of nearly two decades before building Scoreboard Group, a business and leadership performance consulting agency.

Josh will be speaking about the importance of building self-awareness within all levels of staff to help improve overall performance and results. His upcoming book ‘Fix the Root to Get the Fruit’ is filled with real life stories of how Josh has mentored individuals to become the best versions of themselves in their personal and professional lives.


Rina Jensen – Rina is a Business Resiliency Coach with an emphasis on Positive Psychology, Gratitude and Mindfulness. She has been helping clients navigate their mindset since before launching her coaching practice in 2017.

Rina is a life-long learner and enjoys sharing her knowledge through workshops, one-on-one and group coaching and motivational public speaking. She earned her Business Degree from Coe College, with an emphasis on Psychology, and has certifications in Mindfulness, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Confidence and is pursuing Conversational Intelligence and Positive Psychology certifications as well.

As a native of Cedar Rapids, Rina has a love of international travel, spending time with her friends and family and was rescued by two pitbulls, Winston and Zoe, who entertain her and her social media followers daily.
